right from the start

More repeat clients from last week! The Friddle kiddos were all about having a great time from the very start. The field was stop number one. On this day, mom and I both took a chance that the rain would hold off… the 0% chance reported turned into some cold wind and off/on sprinkles. As you can see…that didn’t stop us.

My “about” me page says that I love variety. I do…I sooo do. This session included another small stop and even some inside the studio, but I’ll save those for mom’s gallery. I can’t spoil  too much for her!

My kids ended up playing with them afterwards, and for the first time my son told me “Mommy, I have fallen in love”. LOL – he is such dreamer.  S, he saw me editing these pics and said “mommy, there is my love!” Yes, he has it bad.

Absolutely gorgeous session. Beautiful, beautiful work.

These are so beautiful, Raye!

Stunning! Both the kiddos and the images :)

You always manage to capture such amazing moments.

Sneak peeks are awesome! Great job – as usual – you ROCK!

Fantastic as always Raye!!! (I hope you don’t mind that I am so stealing that blanket idea this week!)

Beautifull as always! Big G knows a pretty girl when he see’s one! That is soooo funny!

i *puffy heart* your work…and your AK accent, too. :)

These are all so beautiful. That last one is just perfect…a mom pleaser for sure! :) Your work is beautiful.

first of many field trips

All my fellow photogs across the world, know my love of fields. With all the rain, I never thought I would get back into them this year. May seemed more like an April bringing showers. I expect June will be the month for more flowers in my summer fields I use which is exciting since June is now booked FULL.

The Oliver sisters got to help me try out with this new spot (and you will be seeing more of it in the next 3+ blog entries). They have been my subjects for some time since little sis was a baby, but this time we finally got dad to come along for some fun.

what beautiful photos!! i, too, have a love of fields…so i look forward to your photos! these are just gorgeous!

Gorgeous Raye, my fave is the 2nd from the bottom. I thought it was about time I started commenting on your blog since I follow your beautiful work on flickr…. :)

OH those are beautiful! I need a good field around here that is NOT private property. Sigh.

That swing shot is so fantastic!! I’m really happy the Dad came for this session because I really like that family image, and I feel they will be so glad to have got the chance to get that for their home! Big too, I hope!

Beautiful family. Beautiful job!

getting to know j

I had an opening for a last minute newborn this week. Oh was  he ever a calm and alert little boy. His eyes were so alert for not even 2 weeks like he knew what was going on the whole time. Hi eyes aren’t the traditional newborn blue but a deep tone of brown which was so unique. I think I spied some auburn in his hair which would go perfectly with mom’s color.

Wow! These are stunning. Beautiful work.

these are awesome!! what a gorgeous family!

Raye – these are absolutely gorgeous!! I adore that last shot of him in the basket – too precious!!

that connection

Love my repeat clients – seeing how they have grown and changed…and how their little personalities have developed…catching up on their interests…and reconnecting through the camera fulfills me to a great extent.

The Wood family are down to earth, beautiful, creative, and inspiring people. I know it is cliche to talk about seeing the love but it is true with them. Nothing is forced…it is genuine. And how about mom coordinating them sooo well! Props and should have titled this “what to wear for a family photograph”.

Now, since this post is extremely long, I will post a little behind the scenes info about it…so follow along or just look at the pictures – it is up to you.

We started out at the “boardwalk” to let the kids explore, run and capture the family images. I love it there because there is always something to appeal to each age and gender such as throwing rocks, running down the lane, spotting bugs or flowers, etc. After warming up and getting the “must-have” shots, we headed for a field with a detour to my new “blue door” (but those images are going to be a surprise).

But on the way to the field, I remember my dad telling me about a “wall of roses” off on one of the many side roads. I had checked it out a day before and when I saw L’s Matilda Jane outfit, I knew that was the spot for that shoot.

At the field, I was a bit disappointed that all the rain has delayed the coneflowers, but there were still some wild ones scattered around. Little man A was promised a picture with his best friend and L walked through the grass to pick the lonely flowers.

Changing up locations is key when shooting toddlers since they can bore so easily. I’m lucky enough to have all my locations within minutes of my studio. Thanks C and T for a wonderful and easy session. xoxo

Wow! I don’t know what to say besides I think I’ll have to have every single one! Thanks for all the sweet commentary but you make it so easy and fun! I feel truly blessed to have found such a sweet, amazing photographer to capture the fun and happiness of growing babies! Thank you so much!!!!

I mean it when I say that you inspire me every single day, Ms. Law. I cannot begin to tell you how much I love every one of these. I hope one day to be half as amazing as you. Seriously girl. This is what it is all about… real life. family. love.

I do not think a session could produce better images than this. Such treasures you’ve created. I just love your work.

beautiful inside & out

Beauty shines inside and out with this mom and 3 girls. Not only is Kristina a long-time client, but she has become a good friend as well. Now she has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer – a disease I know too well in my family. Please give her (as well as these sisters) your prayers as she makes her recovery.

I also want to take a minute to say that it really is never too early for a mammogram. K is only 31 and I am sure she will want me to use this opportunity to remind others to do self exams. Doctors are wonderful, but you have to do your part.

K – love you and your courage and strength through this. I hope these images are some good-medicine for today.
