outdoor newborn in white with kissy lips

I just returned from a quick trip out to San Luis Obispo, CA to photograph the baby girl of the always amazing photographer Lisa Maksoudian.

Saying I had fun, would be quite the understatement. And although it was cloudy and rainy, that couldn’t keep us from attempting a few poses outside. (Seriously, I would kill for just one of her locations – every single corner around her house has flowers, fences, and potential!)

Lisa made me feel right at home as did my roomie, another amazing photographer, Jen Wilson. You see….Jen and I bonded over several things – sonic, diet dr peppers, and our love to rescue strays (yes, we had a “vacation dog” with us for one night before she found the owner an hour away).

I’m already itching to get back out there, so if you are in California and would like a family or baby session on my next visit, contact me soon!

Congrats, Raye!! Love the interview. :)

one last session

Before the weekend, I photographed two sweet little sisters that I have watched grow and change through my lens since older sis was a tiny newborn. Sadly (for me), they are soon to be moving to Texas which means we had to have our “one last session”.

This was also my “one last session” this week, before I head off to California for quick trip to visit and photograph a fabulous photographer and friend’s newborn. So, if you need to reach me, the best bet will be by email.

Gorgeous images as always! Congrats on your feature at All Things Baby.

water baby

Not even 2 years ago, I got to meet a sweetheart of a mother. After hearing of how she gave birth at home, I begged her to write down her story. You may have seen it published in last September’s issue of Peekaboo Magazine along with an image I took of Baby boy B and mommy, but if not, I encourage you to read the online version.

Now comes baby #4, and just like her brother, she entered the world in the warmth and peacefulness of home waterbirth.

it’s about time

…that I started up blogging again. These past two months of my “hiatus” have seemed like a blink of an eye after such a exhausting but rewarding fall.

Even though I may have appeared to be absent from the photography world, lots of sessions and such have been going on behind the scenes. If you are a “fan” on facebook, you’ve seen a few peeks of 2010 maternities and newborns. I hope to have a small recap blog post up next as well as a couple of cool spotlights on the studio.

And I have to show you the little man and his lovely parents that sparked my blogging habit again. I’m sure he will spark others to have that half-way mark through the first year captured.
