Wow....just wow...... Earlier this year, one of PPA mag's editor's contacted me about possibly featuring some of my work in the magazine. At first I thought it was a spoof email. This magazine is an UNBELIEVABLE honor to ever get into. One thing lead to another, and I was interviewed about my studio. The story snippet is on the front page "Maximize Your Mini-Space: Small Spaces, Big Business". In the article, I reveal a little about my business practices and how my space works for me. Raye Law Photography was asked how she photographs/captures toddlers. I gave 10 tips and they featured the article on Toddler Magazine's online site. Toddler Magazine is a national publication in association with New Parent magazine. Check out the 11 page spread featuring some of Raye's little clients! I submitted quite of few images...congrats to the kiddos they selected.
Just when one field seems to be dying down from the hot-with-no-rain weather, another springs up and blooms. So little P and his parents got to test it out for me. He is another newborn client turning 1 year and already running.
It was her 18 month portraits, but we couldn’t forget about older brother and the rest of the family. I love how family sessions turn into little “playdates”. I’ll let the images tell our session story this time….

…repeat families. I finally got to meet the newest Watson girl this time around as mommy was expecting last year and is quite a drive away. But, even after a few long hours in the car, they both were full of giggles, squeals, and ready to play.

We had this shoot on the books for a while now. The last time I saw him was almost exactly a year ago, but we did a downtown shoot then. I told his mom that he is the best of both worlds…all boy loving the potty and monster talk, yet still as sweet as can be giving some great hugs.
p.s. I just had to leave that little tatoo on in the above image…cute!

H learned how to sit up on his own just in time for some field shots. He is such a handsome fella. I kept waiting for him to tire out…and although he may have yawned, he never did fuss (even with all our location and clothing changes).

that every single one in this family is so beautiful? And they are just as gorgeous on the inside too I found. I was afraid we were going to melt out in the field, so we opted for a few quick shots in the studio. The Coleman family made my job easy…mom wasn’t sure that Miss A (who just turned 2) would cooperate having had a “two year old” moment kind of day. But she proved us all wrong and showed me both her sweet & sassy sides. Happy Birthday!

Mom mentioned at the end of the session that when trying to decide on clothing for the shoot, she went to my blog but really never notices what my subjects are wearing. The clothing doesn’t stand out…just the people themselves. To me, that is one of the best compliments a family photographer can get. True…some items can be distracting - but I don’t believe you must break the bank on outfits to “make” a picture.
I photographed these boys last year for the first time during the Holiday Mini Event and we had talked about doing a family session earlier in the spring, but the rain delayed us…enjoy Brooke!

Honestly, I feel like the images here alone show what a brilliantly fun family came this week without me having to tell you so. They were so easy to connect with. A family portrait was waaaaaay overdue and I’m very grateful they chose to work with me.
The Pruitt family resides in Florida where dad works in TV (for one of my golf-coach dad’s favorite channels!). Sis has been practicing ballet since she was 2 and the handsome brother is all into football. And mom, I’m so glad we met. For my blog followers, please keep their grandmother in your prayers as she has recently been diagnosed with cancer.
